Teach a child the way to go … Proverbs 22:6 Give your child a positive Jewish identity, a love of Judaism, and a desire to learn about living Jewishly. Exciting hands-on programs, student-centered classes, and a dedicated faculty at Beth Israel’s Religious School links the modern Conservative Jewish movement with today’s world. We welcome all children who want to enrich their knowledge and make a connection to the Jewish faith. Parents! Building A Jewish Foundation Our youngest students have class each Sunday morning and learn about Jewish holidays, Torah, and Hebrew through lively story, song, and activities. Creating Jewish Identity By second grade and continuing through seventh grade, students attend class two times a week: Sunday and Tuesday. Delving deeper in Judaism, these important years are filled with discussion, activity, and exploration of our faith. Many students take an optional enrichment program offered on a separate day, for additional cultural, artistic, and Hebrew language activities. Moving Toward Adulthood Bar and Bat Mitzvah preparation is an integral part of the program, beginning in sixth grade. Our clergy and staff woks closely with your child to prepare for this milestone. Our special programs, activities, and learning opportunities mark this transition, as our children become Jewish teenagers and take their place in our community. Learning Continues Post-B’nai Mitzvah students are welcomed to attend the Ma’alot program, incorporating a rich array of discussion, outside speakers, activities, and learning specially designed for our young people.
