Schedule Of Services and Candle Lighting Beth Israel is an egalitarian Conservative congregation. We were among the first congregations in Baltimore to encourage full participation by women in synagogue life and to offer women full access to Jewish worship and Jewish religious experience. Today, we continue to support modifications that make Jewish worship more accessible and meaningful to every Jew. Our services remain highly participatory. At the same time, we cherish our Jewish traditions and work to preserve them as a precious legacy for ourselves and our children. As "the full-service congregation around the corner," we offer daily services every morning and evening. You and your family can welcome Shabbat on Friday evenings and Saturday mornings. Observe Jewish holidays with the Beth Israel family. Celebrate with us every pivotal event in your family's life, every birth, every bar and bat mitzvah, every joyous occasion. Find support from the Beth Israel family during every call for consolation, every crisis and resolution. For families with infants and toddlers, we provide a user-friendly "Quiet Room" which affords a view of the sanctuary. In this unique, sound-proof environment (the only such room in any synagogue in Baltimore), religious services and observances are fully experienced. It's a great place for parents to keep an eye on their little ones, while those seated in the sanctuary remain undisturbed by any of the activities in the Quiet Room. This is just one of the many ways in which Beth Israel strives to welcome families at any stage of life. We offer weekly Tot Shabbat (for children ages 2-5) and Junior Congregation services as
well. Once a month, on Friday evenings, we hold our popular TGIF service, where our religious
school students play a leading role welcoming in Shabbat.
