Specialists in gerontology offer:

          Information and referral - caring, expert advice and information about services in the community to help you in planning and caring for older relatives.

          Eldercare Family Consultation - a single-session consultation devoted to helping a family understand their elderly relative's situation, explore options and start to plan.

          Service Coordination – helps individuals and families identify and assess needs, determine their eligibility for benefits, and access community services in the areas of health, housing, finances, government services, home safety, services for caregivers, and more.

Offers information, resources and support to families with children and adolescents.

          The Jewish Big Brother Big Sister program provides Jewish children and teens in need of mentoring with one-on-one community-based matches with Jewish adult volunteers. Children ranging in age from 7 to 17 and are eligible based on several criteria.

          Support Services for Adoptive Families -offers support to meet the unique needs of adoptive families providing information, support, and guidance to help address needs that may arise throughout the lifecycle.

JOIN for Teens

JOIN for Teens provides recreational, social, educational and preventive programs for Jewish teens and their families. JOIN is a collaborative program of Jewish Community Services and the Jewish Community Center.

          Professionally-trained outreach staff available to teens ages 11 -18 and their families for consultation, resources and referrals. Staff also develop, supervise and facilitate recreational opportunites and small group discussions at the Mitchell David Teen Center (see below) and in the community.           Mitchell David Teen Center, a drop-in center for high school students, provides a safe alternative to the streets and local hangouts and is staffed by professionally-trained Teen Outreach Workers. Call (410) 602-9473 for schedule and activities.

          A 24-hour Teen Hotline is available in the community for teens and those who care about teens. Professional staff respond to callers and provide information, support and referral. Call (410) 998-8001.
