The Joseph and Corinne Schwartz Beth Israel Community Learning Lab provides a quality Jewish education and is committed to developing the creativity and potential of each child, along with vigorous intellectual growth, beginning at age 5.

The school’s goals are to instill in children a positive Jewish identity, a love of Judaism and a desire to live Jewish life through the study of the Hebrew language, Bible, holidays, prayer, social studies and experiential programs.

If you are interested in joining the Learning Lab, please email us at bicll@bethisrael-om.org so that we can help start the process.

A Jewish learning program accessible to the whole community

We have removed membership requirements for Learning Lab families and substantially lowered our tuition. The Beth Israel Community Learning Lab is much more affordable than it has ever been.

Learning Lab Reimagined

● Kindergarten to 2nd grade offers an innovative, hands on immersion into Jewish learning.

● Kindergarten and 1st grade explore Hebrew letters, while 2nd grade begins reading and writing Hebrew

● Learning Lab Reimagined for 3rd-7th graders is a true learning lab where students will have the space to explore their Jewish identities on their own terms.

● They will have the opportunity to create individualized experiences, by choosing from an array of electives that touch on different aspects of their Jewish identities. Examples include: Torah, Israel, Prayer, Holidays, Rituals, Culture, etc.

● We will also be building Hebrew classes based on Hebrew level/comfort, instead of by grade. Pre B’nai Mitzvah students will be a part of a B’nai Mitzvah Boot Camp (B’nai Mitzvah Boot Camp, which will cover prayers and trope, among other essential elements of B’nai mitzvah instruction.)

●  Sunday Flex for 2nd – 7th graders - The Flex time takes place during the week – There is one, One on One or small group meeting with their Hebrew teacher for 20 to 30 minutes, and the ability to do independent study using Behrman House tools.

●  This year we will also be offering an online only option, for families that do not feel comfortable attending in person classes. Each teacher will be given an iPad to broadcast their class onto Zoom as well as a madrich (helper) to ensure your children are involved in the class.

● There will be four family programs throughout the year, in which the whole family can go on this Jewish adventure together.
