Giving Opportunities

The spirit of tzedakah can be seen in our sanctuary, our schools and in our sacred spaces. The act of performing the mitzvah of tzedekah is a meaningful way to commemorate an event, memorialize a loved one or pay tribute to the Beth Israel community.

SPECIAL FUNDS

Claire and Ken Sodden Memorial Youth Fund (Minimum donation $10)
Supports Beth Israel’s youth programs, specifically scholarships and leadership training.

Goldie Gorn Education Fund (Minimum donation $10)
Supports the Joseph and Corinne Schwartz Community Learning Lab, specifically with financial assistance for students.

K’vod L’Torah Fund (Minimum donation: $15)
Maintains Beth Israel Congregation’s Torahs.

Marla Joy Lerner Audio/Video Lending Library Fund (Minimum donation $10)
Enhances the Marilyn & Herbert Scher Library with audiovisual materials.

Prayer Book & Humash Fund (Minimum donation: Prayer Book $18, with plated inscription $36/Bible $30, with plated inscription $60)
Provides for fund to purchase specialized liturgical books for holidays as well as maintains and repairs Beth Israel’s prayer books.

Rachel V. Glaser Fund For Educational Enrichment (Minimum donation $18)
Supports the many educational opportunities offered at Beth Israel.

Ted H. Schweitzer Memorial Fund (Minimum donation $10)
Supports the general operation of the congregation, including beautification of the grounds and property.

Rabbi's Discretionary Fund
A discretionary fund used by Rabbi Ezring to facilitate his rabbinical responsibilities. No minimum donation required.

Cantor Matis's Discretionary Fund
A discretionary fund used by the Cantor to facilitate her cantorial responsibilities. No minimum donation required.

Sisterhood Mitzvah Cards: Call the synagogue office, 410-654-0800

Rabbi Jay R. Goldstein Shleimut Fund:  Supports Shleimut and associated programming well into the future, honoring the legacy of Beth Israel's Rabbi Emeritus.
