Remember A Loved One - Zachor

We provide numerous opportunities to memorialize your loved ones surrounded by the comfort of the Beth Israel community.

Reciting Kaddish (memorial prayer) during the initial period of mourning and on the Yahrzeit (anniversary) of the                         date of death of a loved one.

Joining the Yizkor (memorial) service, which is recited on four occasions during the year: Yom Kippur, Shemini                               Atzeret, the 8th day of Passover, and the 2nd day of Shavuot.

Beth Israel also offers the opportunity to memorialize loved ones in perpetuity by dedicating a plaque in the                                   Braunstein Memorial Alcove. This peaceful alcove has become a place where many of our members find comfort.

Plaques can be purchased at any time.  We hold a formal dedication ceremony each year during Selichot services, which ,takes place the Saturday night prior to Rosh Hashanah (Sept. 17, 2022).

A memorial plaque in the Braunstein Memorial Alcove can be ordered by completing this form along with either a deposit of $100 or full payment of $500.  Plaques will be installed when payment is complete.  Please contact Synagogue Director, Valerie Thaler for special payment arrangements.

Please note: Plaques are placed in the next available location. To reserve a spot adjacent to another plaque, you must order both spots simultaneously.

Schedule a visit to the Braunstein Memorial Alcove.

Until we return to in-person services, we are offering the opportunity to visit the Braunstein Memorial Alcove for some private, reflective time. Please contact Synagogue Director Valerie Thaler to arrange that.
