Rabbi Search is Under Way!
Our search process schedule is as follows:
August/September 2022: The committee will use the data previously gathered at focus groups
along with Rabbi Ezring’s suggestions to update the Rabbinical Assembly application, used by
potential candidates to learn about us.
October 2022: The application will be sent to the Rabbinical Assembly (RA) and they will post it
for rabbi candidates to see. Candidates who would like to apply to be our next rabbi will reach
out to Beth Israel through the RA.
October 2022- January 2023: The committee will screen applicants and conduct initial phone
and virtual interviews.
October 2022- April 2023: Promising candidates will be invited to Beth Israel for a visit, to
conduct services and to meet congregants. As we learned last year, timeliness of scheduling
these visits and making decisions about candidates is very important. We encourage all
members of our congregation to attend these services and events. You will receive formal and
informal surveys for your feedback after these visits. You will be asked for your vote on the final
selected candidate at a congregational meeting.
Summer 2023: Our new rabbi will begin!
