Note the move to Wednesdays

Jews have historically played a significant role in working for change within the societies in which they live. From its beginnings, Judaism brought a new and revolutionary message to the world about the relationship between God, the world and humanity, and especially about the responsibility upon the Jews as God’s Chosen. In this mini-course, we will explore the unique role that Jews have had in shaping the world according to both a vision of what the world should look like and a mission to make that happen, whether through ideology, religious understandings, charismatic leadership, influential writings, protests, movements, or at times even violence. Is this merely a coincidence? A reaction to our own history of persecution ? Or is it part of the nature of Jewish consciousness?
