Everyone is invited to gather for an in person Kabbalat Shabbat service followed by a special oneg afterwards featuring sushi and dessert!
Dr. Harriet Wimms: Guest Speaker
Topic: Making the Mundane Holy: How the Mitzvot of Honoring Diversity, Belonging and Mattering Save Lives
Dr. Harriette Wimms is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in supporting LGBTQIA+ folks across the lifespan, as well as people of color who have experienced trauma from power and privilege. Harriette champions social issues in every pocket of Jewish Baltimore. She serves as the ritual chair of Hinenu: The Baltimore Justice Shtiebel. In addition, she is an assistant professor at Loyola Clinical Centers, the Clinical Director and founder of The Village Family Support Center of Baltimore where she trains and mentors doctoral students.
Abby Woloff: Shir Leader
Service Leader Abby Woloff has 25 years of experience leading prayer-filled experiences across diverse settings, blending ancient tradition with personal and communal meaning. She works as a therapist specializing in grief and loss and has also served as an educator, program director, mediator, and end-of-life counselor in settings such as hospitals, prisons, schools, and community clinics. Abby holds a B.A. in Theatre and Peace Studies from Goucher College and an M.S.W. from the University of Maryland, specializing in clinical aging and community development. She was also a JPride board member for 5 years.
