Yahrzeit Notification Preference

Important Notice about Yahrzeit Notifications from Beth Israel Congregation

As of January 1, 2023, Beth Israel will begin sending Yahrzeit notifications by email rather than by mail, unless a congregant indicates they wish to continue receiving paper notifications.

Emailed Yahrzeit notifications:
•    You will receive notifications at the email address we have on file for your loved one’s upcoming Yahrzeit approximately three weeks before the Yahrzeit observance. That email will contain information about in-person and virtual services at which you can say Kaddish (and when your loved one’s name will be read by our clergy or service leader). It will also provide the link to make a donation to Beth Israel, should you wish to do so.
•    You will receive a second email about one week before the Yahrzeit date, with a link to our “Join Our Services” page, and a reminder of service times.
•    You will continue to get a phone call reminder as well.

Paper notifications:
Those who opt to receive paper Yahrzeit notifications will receive one paper notice (as is currently our practice) and one phone call reminder.

Please complete this form to indicate your preference for Yahrzeit communication.

If we don’t hear from you by December 23, we’ll assume that emailed notifications are acceptable going forward in 2023.
